More Carnevale

painted up some more Carnevale miniatures ,4 Pulcinella including 1 on an Ostrich and a rialto assasin for the guild and 3 Agalopes for the Rashaar and then managed to use them in the weekend game . Below are the new miniatures

BELLOLUDI VIETNAM

Recieved the new rule set from Belloludi which covers 1955-1975 ,aimed at Vietnam but usable for any period within the timeframe . The rules are the same layout as their ww1 rule set and plays with the same command dice system ,aimed at new players as are the ww1 set but ive enjoyed playimg those i think these are ideal for quick games on a club night or sunday morning before the dining room table is needed for the Sunday Roast . playable solo, or for 2 or more players a decent game will probably have 20-30 nminiatures for a quick game to learn the rules . The book is 29 pages containing the rules and advanced rules which cover all the usual Nam requirements civilians , booby traps , tanks , boats ,aircraft even fragging your unliked officers . before getting a game in I really like these enough to give them a 9/10

The New Forest

Recently bought some cheap trees on line and was surprised not only how good they looked but the size of them , definately for 28mm and some of the larger ones will certainly depict the talll trees of the american wilderness or deep jungles . 28mm figure to show scale .

Nam -cold war commander style

This weekend we did a replay of last weekends Nam game but this time using cold war commander from Pendraken , Again all Johns Toys but this time I played the good old USA , John sportingly called it a draw I did capture the objcetive but lost almost all of my Infantry and special forces team . A great game again Got into the game so again not many pics 2 showing my some of my forces heading toward the 2 viallages

Nam , force on force style

Played a great game at the weekend US air cav taking ion the NVA and VC we used the Force on Force ambush valley supplement a fantastic set of rules ,got so into the game I only took 1 picture , the Photo shows ther start of the heli landing by the US forces sadly for them it was right in the middle of my ambush area ,the first round of fire took out 2 Hueys then mt NVA went in for some nasty hand to hand which caused horrendous casualties on the Americans . On the other side of the table my small VC force tangled with some special forces and managed to come out on top of that as well , a bad day on the news for the folks back home

Spectre and Carnevale

Over the past couiple of weeks I managed to have a few solo games of Spectre version 3 and a game of Carnevale against my buddy John . Spectre played quicker that the older version and I really liked it hopefully play against a real opponenet next weekend Carnevale , well what can I say easy to pick up great fun, I played the Guild and John took the rashaar , when it looked like I had the game sown up somehow the slithery green thing ( John ) pulled out some great die rolls and under pressure I made a mistake and the Rashaar stole the game on the last turn ,brilliant fun . Carneval

I have thought about this game , Carneval from TT combat for a very long time and my Grandkids bought it me for my Birthday recently. The Game is a skirmish game set in a Venice which has fallen victim to a rent in the sky which has brought all types of Monsters and villains to the Carneval world of Venice , the game only requires afew figures per side and lots of scenery to climb on ,jump from and swim or sail on . I was bought the 2 player box set which comes with 2 lots of figures the Guild and the Rasher all in Resin plus a resin Gondoler and card stock buildings and floor tiles plus of course the rule book and all counters and templates . The rule book is not the latest version but thats not an issue as there are not many chnages and tehe latest version is a free down load form the fantastic game supporting web page . I have painted all the figures and of course bought loads of extra figures , TT combat do a fantastic range of figures to expand the 2 gangs in the starter and also other groups of Vampires , insane doctors and many others . I have read the book and I am sure Its going to be great fun , my wargaming time starts next week and this is one of the games I will be taking with me . Badger 3D

Ordered 3 items from a companyi had not dealt with before Badger 3D ,I placed the order between Christmas and new Year and the items arrived today 10th of January so witht the holidays it was pretty quick turn around . The 3 items were all packed very well and were really clean .lovely models that will need very little clean up before painting the pictures below is how they came out of the box, all 28mm models of a Namer IVF ,a Merkava Mkiv and a Scorpion . Highly reccomended 10/10

Christmas goodies

As usual I have been spoilt with lots if great presents and a lot of them are scenery and paints etc but as usual Elaine has managed ti get me loads of bookd for my latest projects mainly covering the Arab -Israeli conflicts but also one adding to my gothic horror ,victorin crime library ,hope you all had a lovely Christmas and wishing you all agreat new year .
